Issue
yum updatefailure: repodata/repomd.xml from rpmforge: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.
Resolution
- Check what files are present under
/etc/yum.repos.ddirectory by:-
# ll /etc/yum.repos.d
total 24
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1003 Oct 26 2021 amzn2-core.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3150 Jun 1 10:32 amzn2-extras.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 739 Nov 13 2010 mirrors-rpmforge
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 717 Nov 13 2010 mirrors-rpmforge-extras
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 728 Nov 13 2010 mirrors-rpmforge-testing
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1278 Jun 30 09:03 rpmforge.repo
- If any local repositories or any other media repositories are present, remove them by:-
- Remove the old yum cache from the system by running the following commands:
# rm -fr /var/cache/yum/*
# yum clean all
- Check if the valid repositories are getting listed by:-
# ll /etc/yum.repos.d
total 20
